Dear <$salutation$>,
Visualisation
I'm very excited
about my new book coming out soon. Guess what - I visualised
it - and now it's happening!
If you remember,
my last newsletter was all about the tremendous power
of visualisation (and I hope you've started using it). If you want to
refresh your memory why not go back and read it again...
...because today,
to support your visualisations, we're going to concentrate
on a really useful "visual aid". It's called a -
Vision
Board
- and
it's very easy to make one. If you are artistic,
good at craftwork, or even just a bit creative you
will probably enjoy making it beautiful. But if you
would rather just do it on a basic level and get on
with your life then that's OK too.
The
Vision Board, as its name suggests, is a visual aid
to remind you of those dreams you are intending to
turn into reality with your visualisations.
The Board
You can
use any cork board - make it quite large. Or if you
want to treat yourself check the links below*. Put
it where you will see it often - a friend of mine put hers in the bathroom!

Pictures
Now, cut
out pictures from magazines - anything that's relevant
to your particular goals, which might, for example,
include:
- a big house
- a new
car
- flying a plane
- learning a new language
- seeing
a particular show
- visiting a special place
- enjoying a new physical activity
- resuming
an old friendship
- finding a new career...
You can
also put in there how much you want to earn: break
it down into a monthly figure if you want to but keep
it realistic. You won’t
be a millionaire in five years if you earn £20,000 a year now but
aim high. (You can include that on the next one five
years from now!)
Don't, however, make
it all financial . Include relationships, feelings
and some fun.
Words
- If you can't
find a suitable picture you can write a little
something instead - I do this. Or you could try your
drawing skills!
- Another candidate
for your board, if you would feel happy with it,
is a written wish list.
- And if you like
quotes add any that are relevant. There might be
some to get you started in the Pearls of Wisdom sections
of these newsletters.
Results
When you have
achieved something - don't take it off the board.
Put a big tick by it or something. Then every time
you see it you will be reminded that IT WORKS.
In five years time
or so you might be needing to start another board,
and it will be hugely encouraging to see all the ticks you've accumulated.
The Next Big Thing?
The
latest idea is for people to have their own personal
vision movie! They can arrange for this to play perhaps
whenever they switch on their computer, showing them one positive image
or textual message after another, all relating to their own goals.
It's
new - but I do know one lady who's delighted with
hers, from www.themindmovie.com.
