National Yu-Gi-Oh Qualifier in Ipswich!

Yu-Gi-Oh players really have something to cheer about this month, with a National Qualifier coming to the scout hall on Saturday 23 February. That's just a week before the Forbidden/Restricted List is updated on 1 March.

Yu-Gi-OhTournament registration starts at 12 noon and the tournament itself starts at 1 pm - so don't be late! Format is advanced constructed, and each player should bring along a completed deck list.

The Phantom Darkness Sneak Preview Tournament on 26 January was really well attended, with 18 players battling it out to win more Phantom Darkness booster prizes! The tournament was won by Thomas Banham (also an accomplished Magic player) and he walked away with a Phantom Darkness t-shirt, loads of boosters and the foil promo Dark Grepher. Phantom Darkness is now on sale, and is said to be the players' favourite set since Invasion of Chaos.

And a reminder - there's an offer on at the moment for the Saturday afternoon Hobby League - introduce a friend to the club and when they play in their second Hobby League tournament both you and your friend will receive a free booster each from the newest set! The offer's open indefinitely, but is available only to new players or players returning after more than a year away.

Prize Draw

Last month's draw was won by Jason Noble - he takes home five Morningtide Boosters...!

This month's free prize draw is an Alien Queen miniature from Wizkids to celebrate the release of the fantastic new cinema release of Alien v. Predator: Requiem.

Magic

There was a fantastic turn-out for the Morningtide Pre-Release and Release Event Tournaments held on 20 January and 3 February respectivel. Pete Thorpe won his first pre-release and Andy Coates won the theme deck challenge release event. The tribal aspect of the set has galvanised Friday Night Magic, with some fantastic and fast Kithkin and Goblin decks doing the rounds! Talking of which, this month's foil for the FNM tournaments is an alternate art Tormods Crypt - which looks absolutely awesome! See it here.

Gateway is still running every Saturday. it's free, and all players in the casual magic playing environment get to play for some gorgeous foil cards: llanowar Elves, Mogg Fanatics and more. Just pop into the club on Saturday afternoon between 2 pm and 6 pm, sit down and play!

Warmachine

The Call to Arms league for 2008 is running well, with 20 players smashing their steam driven monstrosities into each other last weekend. The full points standing can be seen on the Runik Games website, and now we're seeing some Hordes armies being mustered ready to battle against the Warmachine armies in this combined tour of duty! More info can be found on the Bury Wargamers Blog. See you there!

The Ludicrus website goes from strength to strength with hundreds of hits a day and many staying to play some of the great games or to discuss their favourite topics on the forums. Both Esdevium (you might remember their team from last year) and Upperdeck have agreed to take part in some demonstrations at Ludicrus this year so there'll be plenty going on with the newest games. Also we're currently trying to get Wizards of the Coast involved to show off the lastest Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition which launches on 6th June this year!

Also there is still the competition for Introducing the most friends to the website - you can win a £50 voucher to spend in Runik Games!

So get online to the forums, get your voice heard, and make sure that you get to play y your favourite games this autumn! Not to mention joinging the biggest gaming community in the East of England! More info at www.ludicrus.co.uk
