Hi <$salutation$>
Everyone tells us that the economy's slowing down - and that's certainly the way it looks..
Which means it's more important than ever to use your ICT as efficiently as possible. Because if you do, you've got a good chance of keeping your competitive edge.
So how exactly can you stay ahead in today's increasingly tough market?
Here are Foxhall's seven top tips:
- e-Mail: Centralise your mail management using Exchange server. Get rid of the rubbish with effective, well-targeted spam filters. And use e-marketing - like this newsletter(!) - to spread the word.
- Sharing Information: Use central, shared storage for your files and documents - that way you'll be able to work more efficiently and keep up the quality.
- Keep in touch: In tough times it's more important than ever to make the most of your existing customers - and look after your prospects, too. Make the most of your opportunities by using Customer Relations Management (CRM) software. There's plenty of choice!
- Business tools: Standard business tools will save time and effort all round - so make sure, for example, that your staff know precisely how to mail-merge standard letters, and use spreadsheets for routine calculations. After all, you've already paid for the software!
- Communication: The way you answer your telephone calls and emails says a lot about your company. Make sure you're speaking the language your customers want to hear by responding efficiently and quickly - and be sure you have incoming call plans that guarantee your telephone calls are promptly and properly answered.
- Be flexible: With the right systems you can give staff on the move full access to their office files - and to their colleagues on the phone - without running up costly bills. At home, on the train, in a hotel, or in another branch, they can work just as efficiently as they can at their own desk.
- Reduce travel: Use ICT to provide free or low cost communications between branch offices and home workers, to reduce the need to travel, to contact staff quickly, and to speed up response to customer requests.
